   finally installed winxp-pro on a friends xp, no hp pre-loaded crap, but now, every 5mins, i get reg-3328 pop-ups.
   any ideas what's goin on here?

   are they in a windows error box? and tells you to visit a certain site?
   
   Enter Services and disable the Messenger service.
   
   plus as someone will no doubt post this Shoot the Messenger
   
   
   
   Also you'll need to install SP2.

   well, i installed SP2, and after just running shoot the messenger, it said the messenger service was disabled...so far so good...noticed this before running the program...hopefully that was it...thanks Halo
