    Hello,
I am fairly new to the intermediate usage of computers so be nice. I recently downloaded version pro trial to search for updates and there was quite a list of things that needed to be updated on my computer. Unfortunately I have to shell out $29.95 to download the updates. I hate that. How do us regular joe's with limited funds access such programs? Are there any programs out there that will show me what software, drivers, etc..I need and then download them for me..for free? Thank for the help my friends. Peace.

Well it seems that when I ran the Version Tracker Pro it showed a crapload of needed updates for hardware and software. It wouldn't let me copy them but we are talking from MOBO down to regular programs. There about 15-20 enteries on the list. I was hoping to find something that would do the same thing as the tracker and let me know all the updates I need. What next. I await your wisdom sensei!!

Most programs that I'm aware of, once they're installed, the updates are free. Same goes for hardware; go to the manufacturer of the device in question, and any new drivers or updates will available for download, for FREE. If you paid for a program, you don't have to pay for updates, unless it's a yearly subscription like for Norton Antivirus where you have to pay a flat fee per year to get current virus definitions. Other than that, updates are free, this applies to Windows also. I agree with Mark above: this sounds like some type of :crap - y scam....

For Windows , set the windows update in control panel to automatic.to automatic, and updates will come, as available.
Everest will help to identify programs, and drivers, and point you to the sites for updates.

    Hope this helps.
