You know how every once in a while I will offer up my opinion about a game. A review, if you will.

Well after this game got some good reviews but many complaints, I thought I'd offer up my opinion.

I was very dubious about this game, it looked cool but much opinion that it was linear and boring and runs badly.
My experience was quite the opposite. While the campaign is pretty short (around 6-8 hours) , it has some replay value not only in the form of a "Beat the Waves of enemies" mode but in the campaign itself. Do things differently and try to better yourself.
Replay value or not the game is very clever, you are part of the Ghost Recon team and have lots of cool gadgets to play with.
You are 1 or a team of 4. The AI team mates are different to those I've seen before, you don't control them, but you mark targets for them (if you've played Splinter Cell : Conviction it's like that) and mark one for yourself, once you are targeted and take the shot, so do your team mates. Or you can mark targets and have your team take them out as you walk on by.
Lots of fun tactical play, stealth is the key and they somehow made it fun to move slowly, I am quite an impatient gamer, don't like moving too slow for too long, but found myself perfectly happy to crawl and squat for most of the game.
The fire fights can get intense at times, being suppressed has the camera shift to duct further behind the cover and wobble to give the effects of your cover being cut to pieces with 50cal LMG fire.

I found each mission very engaging and saw several different possible tactics available.
Adding to the tactical feeling, when you gear up , you have the option to choose weapons and equipment, nothing new there except the customization of the weapons. The animation of dismantling the gun and swapping out parts such as the receiver or trigger assembly gives a feeling of more freedom to play the way you want to play.

The story is fairly generic as far as these games go, couple of bad guys, you and your team ooze awesomeness and creep around silently popping heads like zits on a teenager.

If you loved the Ghost Recon's, then this is a great addition, if you like a good semi fantastical shooter then you will like it.
If you want Arma 3 early... you will be disappointed :-D

It's not particularly realistic, but it IS tactical, and it IS fun and well worth a look.
