At one point, I had somehow shared a folder, possibly over a pc to pc direct cable connection. This folder was deleted while sharing was disabled. I just put the box on ethernet, and the folder shows up on the network, but causes error messages when clicked. My question is, how do I remove it from the list of shared items? Alternatively, can I find the local path of this item, so that I can recreate the folder, and hope to remove it that way?

I found the path in the registry using regedit to search for the share name. I found a key with that name in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\LanMan\

I made a new empty folder in the location given by the path value. That folder was immediately shown as shared. I then deleted it, and it was removed from the network. No more errors!
