ghosting your drive...how to?

buddy keeps telling me to save the hassle of doing reinstalls by "ghosting" my drive.
now can i do this with and without ghosting the mobo drivers, etc?
gotta learn how to do this finally...so somebody help me out here please

You question is in conflict with itself.

Making a Ghost image of your hard drive is exactly that.....a true copy of the C: drive.
Nothing left out and nothing added.

Norton Ghost 2003 run from a boot CD or floppy will do the job nicely. I've done it just this morning, to copy my OS from an old IDE drive to a new SATA drive. You must, however, have either a separate partition or a separate drive to copy the Image file to..You cannot make a Ghost image to the same partition you're Ghosting.

i just wanted to know if it was possible to "ghost" certain aspects of it
im assuming you can't dl norton ghost from mg's? just checked...

well this sucks i cant "clone" to a partitioned HD...acronis wants to either delete my partitions or it won't do it
