GIF Error

Excepion GIF application error AVI WMP54Gv4.dll atooo252AF keeps popping up how can I fix it or where can I go to download the fix?

 

WMP54Gv4.dll seems like it would be a Windows Media Player file, but a search on Google and my PC's (Vista and XP) did not find that file.
GIF.s usually open in a Photo Editor or something that you view pictures with.
I know that's not much help but may give you something to go on.
Maybe, a repair of WMP might help.
But, my first thought about a file that that doesn't come up in the searches I did, is possible malware.

WMP54Gv4 is a wireless PCI network card from Linksys. Apparently, the problem is with the card or the driver for the card. Try uninstalling the driver, then install a newer version. You can download it from here.
If that doesn't help, or if I seem totally off base here, please post some more details about your situation. What version of Windows are you using? What exactly are you doing when you see the error? Can you attach a screen shot of the error?
Usually, WMP is an abbreviation for Windows Media Player, but I recognized it as a wifi card as soon as I saw it. I'm not sure why you'd get an error with it when dealing with GIF files unless the GIF extension has been disassociated from its regular "host" application (for example, Paint or other image viewer).
