gigaware problem

Hi there. Purchased the gigaware wraparound usb stereo headset for skype and online gaming.The microphone is working but I cannot hear anything nor can I hear any chat. In device manager it says device is working properly and the drivers are up to date. I have win7 and a asus MB if that helps. I have VIA HD audio deck and I messed around with that but no luck. Friends on skype can hear me fine but I can't hear them or the games I try to play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Go to the manufacturer's support/download page for the make/model you have and manually download/install the latest software and drivers.

My experience has been that Windows doesn't always catch driver updates or patches, especially for audio devices and video cards.

Gigaware has no website that I can find. I have looked for hours.

 

ASUS will have the drivers for his ASUS mobo.

 

Thanks for the replies fellas. I returned the headset to radio shack and will never buy a gigaware product again. I can't believe they don't even have a website... I am trying to get my turtle beach headset to work considering I never play the xbox anymore. Same problems though. I can get the mic to work on the back of my pc but can only hear on the front of my pc. It's hilarious. I built this pc myself and it was my first build but I don't know what the problem could be. Everything on my MB is connected properly. I will mess with it some more and hopefully someone could throw an idea or tip my way. Thanks again.

 

Did you try the audio card, and moving it around, making sure its plugged ALL the way in? Rotate it while talking if you can. On audio cards, sometimes the colors are not what you think. I think my mic goes in a blue hole for example. Sounds like its not picking up one of the contacts.

 

Where is the audio card? I have a very large GeForce graphics card plugged in but it is in very well.

 

Oh, you don't have a soundblaster card or something?

You could try to rotate the audio-input when your talking to someone, and make sure THAT is plugged in all the way. But it sounds like your having the same problem with any set, is that about right?

 

Nope. No sound blaster. My mb is supposed to not need one. My speakers work fine I just cannot get ANY headsets to work properly.

 

Ok, do you try different ports for speaker (headphone), mic? It sounds like a MB port issue, maybe a soundcard would be the answer.

 

I have tried every port that there is on my pc. I will look into getting a sound card. Thanks for the help.
