Glary utilities

A family member is telling me that veryone at work uses this at work and home with no problem.
She says it is a reliable program.
I am lerey of reg cleaners.
Any solid opinions appreciated.

I know how you feel,,but I have used Glary Utilities since it first came out. I still do. Along with its own Restore Center ,Glary also has a Module to the Windows System Restore ,,just for extra safety. I highly recommend Glary Utilities and Ccleaner,I alternate usage between the two of them. All my(4) computers have these fine utilities. Hoped this helped!!!!

I tried to download the portable version to a flashdrive and got a virus. I have Norton who quarentined it. I then Binged and Googled Glary/virus and sure enough there was a virus in their environment.
The newer versions tend not to have it. I would run Malwarebytes and a few others to see if you are infected.
I booted it out of quarentine and reinstalled Norton.
Let us know how other scans work out for you.

As to use: I tend to stay away from programs that do a lot of tweaking. I stick to CCleaner slim and anything else I want to change, I'd rather do one step at a time so if something breaks, I know exactly what thing I changed that broke the computer.
I did download Glary years ago from the software of the day site. I might have run it once that removed it from the computer. (That's me, wanting to do my own tweaking.)

 

plodr is right,,my Glary came from here at The Major. None of my computers have any kind of infection!!!!When I use Glary I only "check" the box on the duty I want performed. Ccleaner IS my primary cleaner,,but like I said,,I do alternate them from time to time. Alls clean here, thanks to The Major!!!!

 

First, I do not think MG was responsible for the virus; I think it was coincidental.
Secondly i appreciate the comments about Glary and it seems everyone likes Ccleaner. I did not know what other apps Glary had so that is why I asked as I never use a reg cleaner, except for Ccleaner's Windows cleanerand. Even then I pare it down to a few checks.

We know you're not blaming MG,,and Ccleaner always seems to be the safer bet. Glary is a good one though,,and thank you for being so appreciative,,I just really hope I helped some!!!!
