Why does it seem to be glossy screens are taking over compared to the traditional matte screen? I like matte better as there is less glare and the image seems better. Any thoughts? I would love to get a MacBook Air but I hate the glossy screen BS. Also, I WANT LED BACKLIT.

    Hi

Dunno what your question is here apart from not liking glossy screens in LCDs?

The Mac Book Air's if thats what your after are only glossy screens and so are most Laptops I know of, unless you go desktop and buy your own normal desktop LCD screen in which you can in these in matte as my Samsung is one, TBH I prefer and think for video playback the glossys are far better than matte. If I have sun on any of the screens and use matte ones in work then the glare is still evident and just as bad IMO.

LED backlit is new-ish tech still and well expensive still as many of us would like them too.

IIRC, there were sprays for glass CRT monitors that you could use to make a screen glossy or matte.

Not sure if there's an LCD equivalent....

Doesn't Apple offer both screens on the Air books?

I know it's a free option on the Macbook pros
