Gmail as default email

Hello every one. I have google host my domain specific email address. I want that to be the default email that gets used when any program or link calls for sending an email address. I am confused how to accomplish this. I have used google notifier, but this will only take me to the login page for @gmail.com addresses. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Although I have a gmail account, I've never used the Gmail Notifier. But, after seeing http://email.about.com/od/gmailtips/qt/et_default_prog.htm, I get the impression it should do what you want. I suggest you visit the link and review it. I think you need to be sure you did this:
# Select Options from the menu.
# Make sure Use Gmail for internet mailto: links is checked.
# Click OK.

 

Yes I do have that checked. The problem is that I need it to go to a place different than www.gmail.com. I need it to go to www.google.com/a/domainname.com. Surely there is a way to do that.

 

Sorry, I don't know how to do that. Hopefully, someone will be able to assist.
