    This new app. lets you use your Gmail account space as a drive on your PC.

    But can anyone download the file that I upload?

    Does Google know about this app. and is it legit?

    It's been out for quite a while, and I'm sure Google is well aware of it.

    I can't see any reason why it would be illegal.

    As far as access is concerned, if GMail drive is set for "Auto Login" and someone has use of your computer, then they can obtain your files.
