Gmail import/export contacts

I can't import my contacts. When I click the link nothing happens. I have gone through their troubleshooting steps and tried IE and FF. Anyone know anything about this, or have the same problem?

 

The import opens a new window from my gmail. Perhaps your popup blocker is eating it.

 

I have the pop up blocker disabled on the browser and on ZA.
I believe they are the only popup blobkers I have.

 

Try adding gmail to the trusted sites part of IE. It uses a lot of JS and AJAX type stuff that may be being blocked.

 

You prob have already checked this in Internet Explorer under tools-options, but if you did not...open security tab and under each, Internet, Local Internet,Trusted Sites, see if the default level has bold print around the box. If so left click to restore them to default where it then becomes greyed out.

 

Click on the link below and go to Troubleshoot a Technical Issue > Contacts > My 'Import Contacts' link won't open

That did it, thanks Matt. I wonder why I can't get it in FF.

 

Its probably because of a security setting. As I said it uses lots of AJAX and JS that a lot of security concious browsers block.

Okay it works in FF now. I had to uninstall my extensions and then retry it.
I also found an extension for gmail, don't know if that had anything to do with it. It didn't say anything about the import function in the description. I think it's mainly for multiple accounts. Anyway, thanks for your help guys. It is greatly appreciated.

 

Personally I use outlook anyway as Gmail offers free pop3 and smtp access. There is a Gmail Notifier too.
