Gmail Impostor.....

When I click on email links a Gmail window pops up on my pc instead of my Outlook pc mail.

How do I get rid of this Gmail program and make email links bring up my Outlook mail instead?

 

Click the three bars top left - that will open up the accounts panel. Then click the account you want to view.

 

I shut it down so will see what happens.......can this be removed totally from my pc?

 

Can what be removed? There is no reference to Gmail in the pic you have posted, the pic is just the message prep page of Mail and if you do as I have asked you will see all the email accounts that you have set up in Mail, which may or may not include a Gmail account.

 

I thought it was Gmail for some reason as when it popped up once it had Gmail on it somewhere.....I have shut it down now whatever it was and so how can I remove the program......I use MSOutlook 2013.......not this.....

 

Open Settings -> Apps -> Default Apps -> Email -> select Outlook as default

 

Done.....see what happens....can I remove that other mail program completely or do I just need to disable it?

 

Uninstalling it within W10 requires using Powershell, instructions here, but I wouldn't recommend it. It won't save you any meaningful space and neither will it bother you again. However if you still want it removed I'd recommend using Iobit Uninstaller to do so. The Mail program itself is rather nice to use. My wife has always used MS Outlook but even she has switched to Mail after seeing it in use (me).

 

I reset it to default, which removed all mail accounts and don't use it. I didn't uninstall as it's not worth the effort.
