GMail not functioning properly

Good Morning All

For the last three weeks I have been having problems with Google particularly Gmail.
I am running Windows 7. When I hit the icon sometimes I will get the Inbox come up and sometimes not with an error message blaming my connection.
My connection to everywhere else is fine. I have done everything that has been recommended Cleared Cashe, Cookiestried setting the Lan settings to 8.8.8.8 as proposed by google I have used Chrome,IE and Firefox as browsers I have dsiabled all the firewalls, ran malware and anti virus and probably a lot of other things I can't remember now. Praying to the god of computers leaving sacrifices of old disc's hasn't even worked. Google itself is very slow but I can get to the sites.
As I have been using it for about 10 years I would struggle now to inform everyone that I have changed address.

As this is the best forum on the net Can anyone help ????

What email program are you using, or are you using a add-on for firefox or chrome, to access your gmail account?

 

I'm using Google mail which I think goes through Windows Not using an addon

 

So in other words, you are using Windows 7 with the Windows live mail program, that took Outlooks place. Suggest downloading Mozilla's Thunderbird and using it.

 

Thanks I have downloaded TBird and is looking good. I have tried to download my addresses but windows livemail is not an option. Any idea how to do it ? Thanks again at least I can open my mail and reply even if so much junk coming through

Export your contacts, then import into Thunderbird. As for Junk mail, the filters for Thunderbird will get smarter as it learns what you deem as junk mail, or as what it does through updates that it pulls from the junkmail filter that it uses from mozilla.
