Gmail with outlook express not working?

Hi im just after getting a gmail account and i have set up my outlook express 6 exactly to the specifications that gmail game me.

I am able to send e-mail from outlook with no problems but i am unable to recieve mail. When i click send/recv i get the following error:

"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"

I turned off my AVG 7 to see if that was causing any problems but that made no difference.

Anyone else experienced this?
