Go West, Young Man

while using google maps, i accidentally hit something, and suddenly the map shot off high-speed to the right (like viewer panning left). i figured i had somehow entered a destination way off the left of the screen and hit some "animate route" function which i didn't know of, but even when i zoom OUT far enough to see whole route in one piece, it's still continuing. in fact, at maximum height (half of earth per screen), it's in a loop lasting only 1/4 second or so: US - pacific - asia - europe - atlantic - US - repeat. like spinning a globe high-speed.

what the heck is going on? i left it running in a tab overnight, and its STILL going strong. (wish i could take a vid somehow)
