God of War III!

Any fans here on MajorGeeks?

I got the game last Tuesday, and I LOVED it. Granted I played through the easiest mode just to get through it quick because I'm in college and time is a precious commodity when you're trying to beat the game in God Mode & have a 5 pg paper due the next day. Honestly, it's the best game I've ever played in my life! (Although I'm a hardcore fan of the entire series and I may be biased lol)

I'd love to know if there are any more enthusiasts or people who played it. What did you think of the ending? :celebrate

P.S. Just recently hooked my PS3 up to PSN & I'm looking to add more friends for online play. If you're down, let me know what games you play.

 

Awww man, there's a thread here explaining how my PS3 died a little while back, just in time to miss GOW3

But I had/have zero doubts it's one of the best games ever made and almost certainly the best looking game ever made.
The whole series has been awesome.

For any that don't know, if there was ever a game that was worth buying the system for..........this is it.

Yeah, over heated, chip needs reseating but I havn't got round to doing it lol, I also have a shortage of cash to get the stuff needed.

Yellow Light Of Death is what people are calling it.
It's just because I used it as a dvd player too much, the poor thing between gaming and movies was on about 5-10 hours every day for months lol

 

Ouch! Lol, but 5-10 hours a day would do it Mine's off most of the time and I haven't used it for a movie yet (though I've been wanting to see how great the Blu-Ray is!)

And I think I prefer a Yellow Light of Death as opposed to a Red Ring of Death. :-D

And Blu Ray on a half decent TV is awesome, even normal DVD's play clearer on the PS3, it also plays divx annd xvids, avi and Mpegs.
I only used it as a dvd player because my main player died and I couldn't afford a new one lol

 

ehhh I might be a bit PS3 biased lol (okay a lot). I'm of the belief that a PS3 can be fixed by the user while an Xbox can't be fixed as easily. I've opened both systems up. With the PS3, I feel like I'm dealing with a mini tower.

I didn't know that about its DVD capability. I have a DVD player where the PS3 is in my house, so I've never thought to use the PS3 for that. Good to know though. My dad's actually more excited about trying out the BluRay on it b/c my mom won't let him get one :-D

 

lol in actual fact the Xbox is easier to fix, the PS3 is much more technologically advanced and is much scarier when opened, plus the box heat issue is because of cheap clamps, the PS3 is simply due to over use.

I'm a PS3 fanboy all the way, best system ever made, Xbox 360 is ok but never was a "Next Gen" system as it simply had upgraded technology as opposed to PS3 which has NEW technology.
You'll see the box 720 long before the PS4 lol

 

I was thinking about buying GOD of War 3 but i played the demo, now im on the fence. I'm not so sure now, it seems like very limited weapons/move combos, maybe because i only played the demo a couple times but the moves also seem easy to master. Please correct me if im wrong in not buying this game! the gameplay "looks" amazing, but hows the move/combo list?

 

Well I can't speak from GOW3 because I've not yet played it but the previous games were not hard to master, the combo's etc are designed to be reletively easy, the games are just simply "Cool" to play, massess of enemies and you just carve them up, much like Devil May Cry 4, it's a game that (especially in this case) makes you feel like a god.

I can't tell you to go and buy it obviously, I'm not you lol, but when I can afford it I wont be renting, I will be buying. And I'm basing my descision on 1 video preview 3 months ago and the previous games. I trust the devs that much

 

Yeah your right, it's a fun demo to play. I'll probably buy it. I especially loved Devil May Cry 4, and 3 on PS2!! Either way, I did find myself having to restart quite a bit at first when fighting an avatar ( i think lol, half horse, half somethin else), the kill is hard to get at first.

 

Thats the beauty of games like that, they make you feel all powerful and then throw you a curve ball, it's just a matter of working out HOW to kill stuff.
Thats what makes them great games.

Thats true, thats pretty badass, i love the game play like i said, but i think the controls are just too easy like the previous games.Then again played the demo. But the kills are amazing!

 

The game is very different from the demo. They made the demo for E3-09, almost a year before the game was due to be released, and have added a ton of polish and improvesments since then. The game itself is far more varied. Just wait until you get the Cestus... giant HUGE metal boxing gloves with teeth and massive earthquake powers. Hulk smash, bah! FEAR ME!!

Oh, and for the record, the half-man-half-horse is a centaur.

 

Ok, I bought it hahaha, and OMG i looove this game, i just got the claws of Hates, im lovin this game, cant wait to see whats next, Hates took a while to beat so im hoping this game will continue showing me perfection :-D lol

 

lol See, I was right and havn't even played it :-D

My boys friend moaned about it not being very long, but he also played it on the easiest difficulty setting which IMO is just silly unless you're new to the type of game, I like to set difficulty on 1 step down from hardest on most games, gives the game more challenge and longevity.
