Going from XP Pro to W98SE, need help please!

My son loaded a copy of XP Pro on my computer 4-5 months ago and it has worked fine. Until the last week see "First Post, I need help w/ 'puter problem" thread. I can't get it to boot from the XP copy he had and was just going to reload the W98SE back on it that came with it.

What steps do I need to take? I have the disk that was supplied with the computer when purchased.

If you are just wanting to reinstall Win98, then that shouldn't be a big problem. First you will need a blank formatted floppy disk. Go to www.bootdisk.com and download a Win98 boot disk file. This will be a WinImage self extracting file. After downloading the file, put your blank floppy in the drive and click on the file that you downloaded. When finished you will have a Win98 boot disk.
You may have to go into your BIOS and change your boot order, depending on whether A: is set as first choice or not. Leave the floppy in, and reboot the computer, if it boots from A: then you're fine and no need to worry about the boot order, if not change it.
If your son installed XP with FAT32, then all you will have to do is type "format C: at the A:>prompt. If it is formatted in NTFS, then you will get an error when you type the format c: command. Get back to the A:> and type FDISK and hit enter. This should bring up a list of drives on your computer, and c: will be shown as a NONDOS partition. Selection the option to delete it, and after the deletion is complete, go back to the A:> and type "format c: and hit enter. This should result in your hard drive being completely formatted in FAT32.
