Just got the word, mission managers have green-lighted 1 July, 1548hrs(3:48PM) as the first attempt to send Discovery up. As expected, there were a couple of dissenting votes, but after 2.5 days of discussion, we are as good to go as go can get. Booyah, time to punch a hole in the sky.

 

Probably just wanted to wait until the World Cup was over. Good priorities.

 

What's a World Cup? Is that like something the UN drinks from?

Well, cancer is still an ongoing battle, but my son, who has had nothing to do with me for about the last 12 years, has renewed contact, and things are going very well with that. Made for an excellent Fathers Day, for a change.

I hear you loud and clear BCGray, only ours is doing "the world owes me" bit too. Add to that we had to "let someone go" at work and my home/work life (i.e. 20 hours per day) is pretty stressy. The other 4 hours I sleep
