GOM player

GOM player sound and picture or not in sync?
Can this be fixed?
Sound is also choppy, picture is not.
DVD play perfectly it,s only the movies I download.
what can be done to fix this?

 

Does this issue occur with all videos you try to play in GOM? Does it play fine in other media players?

If the issue occurs across all other players, then it could be due to a incompatible or lack of video codec. This can occur if you had multiple codecs installed or if previous codec pack fails to uninstall correctly. If this is to be the issue, recommend to uninstall all codec pack and media player, and reinstall the media player, or GOM by itself to retry the video. GOM should come with built-in codec, and to be frank, works well in most situations.

However if the issue is selected video files, ensure it works fine on other friends computers. If it also fails to play properly on other computers, then the issue would be the video itself. This issue would be caused from the encoding process. Unfortunately not much can be done in this type of situation. There are a few free apps out there, (cant remember the names though, maybe some one out here might recall something), thats claims it can fix issues like out of sync, but in the past, they had little success. I would not recommend spending any money on this type of apps, as the success rate is fairly low.

Alternatively, maybe try VLC, that 'may' provide a little bit better performance/sync.

If you havnt tried already, maybe pop into Majorgeek's Multimedia section and try one of the K-lite codec packs.

One last note, if you are trying to 1080/blue-ray quality videos, ensure your computer has a decent video card and/or CPU, they can consume quite a bit of processing power. Lack of video card and/or decent CPU can also cause out of sync symptoms, though typically you will notice more lag & delays than out of sync.

 

If this is a codec problems i would recommend downloading this-->>CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) 2013-05-30

This will allow to play movies in wmp if needed.

 

I downloaded the K-lite codec and it fix the problem.

you might have issues with K-light i would go with CCCP never had an issue with it.
