Gone fishing....

Took the boys out on the McKenzie river fishing today.........

 

I don't know what you got out of the river Lev, but that picture is a keeper.

ROFL..I knew one of the "Tim's" would pick up on that. I ain't never had a Tim, either.

Well, we got lots of rainbow trout and one chubb. The salmon are very dark now and you can't keep them after August 15th anyway. We saw one steelhead, but I think it saw us first

@Mankind...they drag boat raced in that little creek?

Yup...the youngest kid, though a ton of his were natives, so we had to throw them back. Tonight we're having fresh trout and homegrown potatoes, carrots and corn for dinner Sweet !

 

Awesome! I didn't get my salmon this run, so I'm hoping the fall run smiles more kindly on me. There is a great hole just down from Mapleton on the Suislaw that we love to fish. You know the one? One of the locals dogs always hangs out there and chases any rocks you care to throw in. Great for stirring up the salmon at the bottom of the hole hehe

There are some good rapids on the McKenzie right now.......we almost got a very close look at them HAHA. Got a few nice sized trout. It was just really peaceful as most of the boaters are gone now. One kayaker got himself into problems in the rapids. We thought we were going to have to up anchor and go rescue him when he didn't resume upright for what seemed like ages.

Dunno if I should be happy for you or feel sorry for you!

Dinner was absolutely awesome. As much beer, wine, lemonade, iced tea as you can drink; a variety of fresh breads togteher with an awesome salad; fresh steam veggies with bbq'd chicken and spicy pork spare ribs like you have never tasted in your life...so tender they just fall off the bone, and a berry cobbler followed by coffee to wash it all down. As much as you can eat, excellent grub and only $50, and that also includes the 75 mile round trip on the jet boat!

 

Lev your kids kinda look kinda American to me,they remind me of the kids from Home Improvement

I've been coming to the US for many years prior to moving here, so I guess they got Americanized from an early age They certainly don't sound American, but I did get told by Airport Security recently that I have an Oregon accent!

Rikky.......you are doing something seriously wrong if that's how you see fishing, buddy

 

Not been fishing for about 14 years,not my cup of tea really I have to be doing something even if that justs watching TV or the net

Being alone with my thoughts is a scary thought
