Good free search program that will search the registry as well as files and folders?

I hate Windows Search 4.0, and I have disabled it. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=267550

I have found a couple of really good user-friendly free search programs in MasterSeeker and SwiftSearch. But I would like something that searches the registry as well as folders and files. I have a particular interest in thoroughly getting rid of unwanted programs that don't show up on applications like Revo Uninstaller.

Any suggestions?

I use |MG| Everything

As far as the registry goes, I think you have to search it manually from inside regedit.
Edit > Find

Be careful in the registry, if you have to muck about in there back it up first.

Not exactly what you're looking for but download Regshot 2.0.1.70 unicode from my Dropbox. It has my customized regshot.ini that will hide false positives. This is not the regular Regshot available here and elsewhere. This is one where a Russian guy took the regular Regshot and made it a gazillion times better. His site went offline over a year or two ago so it's hard to find his version anymore.

Just take a shot before installing something and then shot 2 after. You'll have all the files and registry changes. The registry changes will be saved as reg files that can be merged to remove all traces of the software.

Backup the Registry first!!!!!!!!!
RegScanner is an easy way to search the Registry

I also use Everything for a quick search of the hard drive.
For a more in-depth search of the computer hard drive or external drive, including search for text within files, I use the free Index Your Files which has installer and portable versions. Unfortunately I couldn't find it listed for download at MajorGeeks
