7zip is good, tugzip is good, and winrar is fine, tho its shareware, you can continue to use it beyond the 30 day shareware period

7Zip. It's completely free, and it installs context menu items, meaning you simply right click on the file you wish to work with and can open it, extract it or put it into it's own zip file on the fly. MajorGeeks only hosts the beta version here: Click!

I personally use the older version here: Click! (this also includes the 64 bit version, if you need that)

    Hope that helps!

I did not know that. (In my best Johnny Carson imitation.)

Always used 7zip for the past 8 yrs. or so. "If it ain't broke..." Personal preference will win the day for you, jeb2. ;)

When it comes to zipped files it is winrar for me.

TBH, I have hardly given any others a real try though to be fair as i have always been happy with it :)

edit: oh yeah....winrar is in the context menu also [right click] :p

    Hello There,

Winrar is the best for me, but there is 7zip, Winzip, Izarc

but its up to the user as all programs have different features.

I have to go with 7zip.

7zip has opened anything that is compressed for me,but as another member/end user stated to each their own as to what you like or feel comfortable to use.
