Exactly. In my books, if you can't play the game, its not been released.

But now its been released properly. So, PARTAY!

I don't have a good enough PC or enough money to buy it. Poo.

 

I'm preloading right now. An amazing 860kbs!

When i get home from school tomorrow. Ill purchase it and play till i drop.

@Goldfish You should be able to play it on ur system. The min video req. is a directx7 video card. It might not look the greatest but at least you could play.

I was sitting here wishing, damn wish I could afford to get it, then my friend reminds me it came free with my vid card its probably sitting on my steam client at home right now cant wait till school over

seriously, the best game I have ever played... and I'm only 4-5 hours in.

 

Blast! it says recommended system requirements are at least a 2.6 is this true? I've got a 1.8 athlon xp, would it work with high settings? or decent settings?

Ill be running it on a celeron 1.8 with 384 mb of ram and an nvidia geforce fx 5200 PCI. ill let you guys know how it runs.

 

Thats almost exactly what my system is, so tell me how it runs! and if you can, post a screenshot.

 

ill definatly post a screenie, ill play for a bit, then set the graphics as high as are playable, ill take a screenie of both for comparison.

 

It's Great!! I cannot believe it's finally here, but it is WELL worth the wait. Worked on my PC without a hitch, 2.7 Ghz P4, 1 gig of ram, ATI 9800 Pro.

The Retail release is 5-discs, though the collectors may be more. Download took 16 hours on my DSL line.

ok, im playing it, its amazing, i set all the graphics settings all teh way down, and now im going to a lower resoltuion to see if i can stop it hanging. ..

ok. set the resolution down one, and put the settings back to normal, and it seems to be runing fine. the audio will hang more than anything else. post back later.

I think the scripted events are far better than those in far cry....

And actually, some of the coolest things that happen are completely unscripted - the way that you, as well as your enemies, use your surroundings during firefights can end up in some really interesting/****ing awesome results.

Already there's just so many moments where I'm saying "holy ****, I can't believe this is a game."

I am so pleased with this game - valve really came through. :thumbsup:

This is probably the first time that i've spent $300+ on a video card and gotten my moneys worth. The graphics are wow, just wow.
