Hello, just a quick question for anyone who might know.
I am using a wintv tuner card and have my analog camcorder hooked up to it. I will also be doing some vhs tapes as well. Currently I've only been using VirtualDub to capture the video to avi. I'm not exactly happy with virtualdub, but I havent been able to find an alternative. Anyone know of other software that does a pretty good job for this? Wintv's software doesn't do video capture. and some others i've tried don't recognize the audio input, and want to use the sound card. The wintv card was taken from a compaq media center pc, and had some additional inputs on the front of the case. I pulled that bracket along with the card, and it works fine. I will continue to use Virtual dub. btw, I am using Windows 7 64-bit, but I can't get virtual dub to work correctly with it. I also dual boot with vista 32 bit, so I have to use that in order to get virtual dub to work correcty. Any other tips on better video quality (with reasonable file sizes) are appreciated as well. thanks.

My friend uses Pinnacle studio 12 to do this with a Hauppauge tv card seams to work for him but I don't know about the quality might be worth a shot

I no little of video editing apps, any chance though of using a file converter though to shrin k the size...then... Maybe use VLC media player which is pretty ugly basic playback interface but plays almost everything video related. Vlc can be used to stream video also.

Good luck in your hunt...oh almost forgot "NCH software" do a number of free apps some of which can be downloaded from a free programs link on there site. Have a look they do several photo video and audio type apps. Quite small downloads.

When it comes to VirtualDub, did you try VirtualDub 64... &
Which companies 64 Bit CPU do you have?
VRDub 64 is suppose to run better on an AMD.
