Goodmans dvd+rw pro gdvd303r playback issues

hi, iam having playback problem using media TDK DVD+R and MIRROR DVD+R
ive used mirror before and it worked fine using and old program i had divxtodvd where it converted from avi and worked everytime, but then the program i was using was blacklisted so i updated to the newer version Converttodvd and it burns ok but doesnt play back on my standalone dvd recorder/player, also ive tried using winavi and this converted it to Video TS and it
burns no problem, but again no playback using either of the media ive now tried a vew converters like Imgburn always burning ok but not playing back! the thing is the BLANK media is recognised in the recorder and records however when closing the disc after recording i get disc errors on both media! is there anything it can do to test my recorder against the media iam using, any other suggestions are most welcome
