Google and Other Sites Stop Loading

Every now and then whenever I try and go online to Google, Youtube, Gmail, Facebook the sites seem to not respond I get a message like

The thing is other websites like this one, Yahoo, Newegg, Break will all work, but a simple site like google.com won't. I've tried resetting the routers modem, and even home server, but It wont do anything I just have to wait for usually over an hour till it kicks back on. I got 5 PC's, and 1 Laptop - and as soon as one can't connect they all can't.

I've tried using CMD and pinging the site and this is what happens.

 

If you don't reset your modem/router will the connection fix itself after awhile? If the answer is yes then its probably an ISP issue.

It sounds like something is wrong with DNS or more likely that you your traffic is not being routed correctly to either the DNS server for google or the actual web server.

Just to be sure it's not a local problem you could check your hosts file to make sure there aren't any odd entries in 'C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts'.

Have you tried contacting your ISP about this issue?

 

can you please open cmd and run ipconfig once when the issue occurs and once when it is not occurring? I currently suspect a problem with the DNS service on your router/ISP if this is affecting all your computers.

 

Another vote for DNS issue

You can change one computer to have the DNS server set to static and enter in 8.8.8.8 (a google public DNS server). Test to see if that resolves the problem for that computer when the others fail.
