Google Chrome

I have switched my browser from IE8 to Google Chrome. I find it faster and less of a resource hog. However, having made it the default, some (not all) site links still open in IE8.
How can I ensure that everything opens in Chrome?

I'm assuming you have double checked to make sure Google Chrome is the default Web Browser.

My question is then is there a certain website or link specifically that opens IE8 or is it completely at random.

If you have any places that you could post I will try to replicate the issue.

 

The problem is random except when the link is within email, then it is 100%.

OS: Win XP Professional.
email: Foxmail.

 

Some applications do not honor system defaults. This happens most noticeably when you uninstall programs and they take you to a "survey page" about why you uninstalled. My two cents:

• Check for a setting within Foxmail about the browser setting
• Submit a bug report to Tencent (the developers of Foxmail)
• Right-click all links in Foxmail, using "Copy Link" or "Copy Shortcut" and pasting it in Chrome
  OR
• Switch email clients

 

Also, just to be sure, you want to click START, then RUN, then type in:

appwiz.cpl

Add/Remove programs starts.

Next (when you can that is) click "Set Program Access and Defaults". Now the radial button custom may be selected, if not, select it. Once selected, make sure that google chrome is set as default web browser.
