Google not opening first try.

Hi all.
Rather annoying problem.
I click internet explorer 9 and for some reason the first attempt to load google sits there trying to open.
I can open another 10 pages one after the other without a problem but this first page takes an age.
Any clues?

Is the homepage set to www.google.com ?
If it is, try setting to something else like www.msn.com and then test to see if you are able to quickly load www.google.com in a new tab and if msn.com loads quickly.

Have you tried resetting IE 9 ?? This worked for a friend of mine who couldn't get Yahoo to open. Read these instructions before you even think about it.

Hi both.
Homepage is google.co.uk.
The problem with trying a different site is that I would have to open a browser to change it.
Once the first page has been opened all is well.
It is also sparodic so setting a new homepage and then rebooting would take a fair few goes to see if it is google that is the problem.

I'll give both options a go (new homepage first) and see what happens.
