Google redirect, antivirus program inactive

Something has infected my computer, i get a redirect from major search engines on any browser. My Local Area Connection is constantly saying "Acquiring Network Address".

My AVG Anti-Virus program notified me of a Trojan intrusion and when i use the program to remove threat, i'm prompted to restart the computer to complete the operation. After restart, my AVG Anti-Virus is inactive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Anti-Virus program to get it to work, and it doesn't seem able to remove the threat.
