google won't stay unchecked

    I have win xp pro with ie7. I have the google toolbar, which I like to uncheck when I am not using, to free up one line on my screen. View> toolbars, > uncheck google and then lock toolbars will not not hold once the ie window is closed and reopened, or on reboot. Is this a known problem with google toolbar? Is there a fix?

    The toolbar SHOULD remain out of view once you uncheck it - that would be proper behavior. Can't say what to do except check on the Google site, maybe there's an update to the toolbar that fixes this behavior.
