this one is kind of strange. sometimes when i boot up i get the bsod with the message that session3_initialization_failed followed by the usual check new hardware and software etc etc technical information stop: 0x0000006f(0x0000130,0x00000000,0x00000000,0x00000000) the only thing i can find about session 3 failure has to do with windows 2000 it doesn't do it all the time and once it boots everything works fine. it's more annoying than anything since everything works. anybody have any ideas? amd athlon 3000+ cpu winfast k8s-760mg-6lrs mobo soundblaster audigy 2 nx usb sound card 2 sony dru-710 dvd drives 2 wd 250 gig sata hdd on a jobod raid windows xp home with sp 2 thank you

All I found on it was a very confusing thread that seemed to point to a hardware issue & that was about it.

You could start with a memory test.

    This is what I found 0x0000006F: SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
The process creation failure indicated by this error message can only happen during the fairly brief time that the Windows Executive is being initialized, which is during phase 4 of Windows startup. Typically there is a problem with a device driver or with a missing or corrupt system file used during Windows startup.
    • STOP 0x0000006F During System Initialization {KB 153742} Win 2000
    • System or Boot Disk Listed as Dynamic Unreadable in Disk Management {KB 236086} Win 2000

Hope that helps flyer1And Welcome to Major Geeks

thanks hipster. i did a memtest for 10 hrs and got 2 errors so now i have to figure out which stick it is. to bc gray, i found that same article and it seems to pertain more to windows 2000 than xp, but after i replace the memory i'll work that angle. thank you much

well i replaced the memory, but it still gives me the session 3 failure so i guess i'll have to do some more tinkering. i'm not even sure it's a software problem could be hardware so i'll start disconnecting things and see what happens. thank you
