Got My New Car...

much different experience than driving my old '94 Honda Civic... got a great deal on the car since it's a '04 and the '05's are coming in soon ($5900 in rebates)... gonna be nervous driving it for the first few weeks lol =\

Nice 8 or 6? They are really lowering prices of SUV's because of gas pricing. My Durango 5.9L V8 get about 10 - 12 MPG. When my lease is up on my Taurus I was considering buying a used Mountaineer, they get about 10 more MPG than my Durango and I need to buy a vehicle cause I drive around alot in my job.

thanks guys... yup it's a 2004 Ford Explorer XLT Sport... the XLT (regular) has monochromatic trim and no running boards.... i went with the XLT Sport because it comes with the running boards and 17" wheels instead of 16" (on the XLT).... i didn't have alot to choose from @ the dealership... I was looking for one in either black or white with a moonroof but just about every one that had a moonroof also had a 3rd row seat ($750 option) which i did NOT want....

Wookie it's a V6... cash back rebate was $4500 (ends August 31st), got an extra $1000 for financing and $400 off for the college grad rebate (i'm graduating in december so they gave it to me)... car was an early graduation gift from my father so i have him to thank for it

the dark blue color is nice Eyesaw : ] I would have gotten mine in black if they had one with the options that i wanted... but i'm pretty happy with the white... enjoy

thats a tight rig. now all you need is some serious stereo mods, some tinted winodows, and 20's. then that would be a sick ride.

Nice ride!! Congrats!! But I must agree, any Ford 4x4 looks better with a little mud trim. I probably could not find mine in a parking lot if it was clean!! Enjoy the new toy!

It's a good feeling not to have to worry about the oil level before every trip.

I've never had a car... what's it like? It looks like a major pain for the sake of convienece to me.

 

It is a pain. But a necessary one if you live 50km from work and the buses are dodgy.

I know a guy, married with two kids, who lives in downtown Vancouver. He and his family get by with taxicabs when they need to go somewhere the bus won't take them, and it still costs them less than owning a car.
