    Hello everyone,

I have a notebook ASUS N56VB, with a dedicated 2gb video card NVIDIA gt740m. Originally, it came with an i3 3120m processor, which I've replaced with an i7 3610qm. Since it was a little hot when gaming, about 90C, I've decided to replace the thermal compound. The thermal compound used, Artic Silver 5, was applied to the CPU by spreading it on the metal part, and I've used the same method with the GPU. I would like to clear out that first, the remainings of the old thermal compound have been cleaned using cotton swabs embedded in a watered based alcohol at 46C. Before applying the new compound, I made sure all parts where dry and clean. After finishing applying the new compound, I took some time -around 30 minutes- before turning the computer on again.

The CPU temperatures have dropped significantly, which was a success, however the GPU temperature is a little high now... 93C when playing GTA IV EFLC even after a few seconds of gameplay, which worried me a little bit. Honestly, I don't remember if the GPU temperatures where high before applying the compound, since my main concern where CPU temperatures.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks a lot!
