I have an older WinME computer, Dell, and it will not read USB sticks. Was looking at USB man, but unspecific. I don't think I get any messages saying what driver I need. I am just sick of burning files to go back and forth! :cry

tried searching other forums, no luck..

Help me obiwan!:wave What driver for a USB stick

My guess is that WinME will not read USB sticks because most are formatted to Fat32, as purchased. I think maybe that you will need to reformat to FAT format.

Only a guess, and I also don't know if WinME will provide reformatting to FAT.
You may have to get a friend with a recent version of OS to format them for you, to use in WinME

Also FAT probably has a limit on File sizes when transferring stuff to a USB stick.

Will other MG members please step in, to help Rocktot out.
I don't have experience in WinME.

    Go here http://www.usbman.com/winxpusbguide.htm
scroll to the bottom and see the 6 files listed. If you have a Win ME CD they are on there. If you don't have a Win ME CD, download the files.

Ok, could not locate those files on my WinME (Dell) Disk. When I click on them, to D/L them, only the last DLL file will 'download' when clicked, the rest seem to open up as files, there is no downloading available?

Have you tried formatting the USB stick to FAT? I think this will work.

How to format usb flash drive from fat 32 to fat?
