    Hi,
I am new here and this is my first post.
I like adventure games and only play them
every now and then, so I'm not an extreme
    computer gamer.

I was wondering if anyone could offer any
help with a graphic card needed for The
    Da Vinci Code game.

    The game does not support
nVidia GeForce 3 and 4 series MX cards

My computer has a Pentium 4 2.00GHz processor
and I believe we have a very old graphics card--
    it's a nVidia GeForce 2Ti

So I'm pretty sure my problem is the outdated graphics card.

    My question is:
What updated graphic card would be needed and compatable
with my computer to run this game?

I don't believe we have PCI express 16 interface

I looked up nVidia GeForce 2Ti at http://www.answers.com/topic/comparison-of-nvidia-graphics-processing-units

I don't know how to update the graphics card because our computer
is about 5 years old and components change over the years.

Thanks for any input or help

Hi, and welcome to major geeks! :)

Since your have an AGP slot you have many options you can look at. Here's a link to a variety of AGP video cards from a reputable online retailer. You can narrow your search even further by price, vendor, make, model, etc.

The graphical requirements for the game are not very steep so you do not have to spend a lot of money for a new video card. The GeForce 6200 is a nice little card that will easily run this game as well as some newer games on the market. It retails for about $70, and should hold you for a while as long as you don't plan on digging into the newest and greatest games out there. Of course, if you want to spend less than that, anything with at least 64MB of memory that is DirectX 9.0 compatible will run the game just fine. :)

    Hi, there,
I would like to try and help you, if I may. First off, look at the game box(usually on the left or right hand side), and see the system requirements. Also, I know there is a site by microsoft called the windows game analizer that will scan your system, and tell you if your system will run the game or not. It should also tell you what you will need to upgrade. Hope this helps. Also, try going to the nvidia website, and searching for the correct drivers for your graphics card(display drivers).

Thanks so much for all of the help.

The link that provided all of those AGP video cards
was great and gave me an idea on what it is I need
    to use on my computer.

I wasn't sure if they still made AGP video cards
as I see a lot of them now are being supported
by PCIe x16.. So I was very happy that my
    computer components aren't obsolete...yet

My end decision was updating to the
ATI Radeon 9550 256MB AGP Video Card
only because it was easy to pick up and
available at our local Circuit City for $79
But, I wouldn't have hesitated on getting the
GeForce 6200 if they had it in stock as I'm
sure it would have done the trick also.

So far so good. The new card is working
fine and I am able to play my game.
I am hoping to get a few more games
out of this new card before the next update...
I have a few older games still sitting in their boxes.
A few games about Egypt and stuff like that,
and a couple of Dracula.. LOL :D
    -hope to play them sometime
Then maybe when my computer time is not so limited
I'd like to turn my PC into a gaming machine.
-Maybe by then the Intel Core 2 Extreme
    ( Quad Core Processor QX 6700 )
won't be so darn pricey! LOL

    But,
I also bookmarked that Windows Game Analyzer.
Didn't realize there was something like that out there.
I thought it was a great reference to have regarding system
requirements and stuff...So I will make sure I refer to that
whenever I'm in the market for my next adventure game..

Thanks again for all of the Great advice!
    You guys rock!! :)

    Take Care..
