Grand daughter computer issue!

Mine like all the other little buggers goes all over the net willy nilly! She has an issue with her Acer One laptop, my daughter in law has it admin pass worded. Unfortunately she has miss place the pass word and cannot remember it. I cannot get at too much to be able to try and fix things, is there a way around the admin password? The kid has a bunch of stuff on it and freaked out when I said it may have to be scrubbed and reloaded!

There are programs that would get around the password but it would not be proper for me to post them.

Have you tried booting in safe mode, or going into the bios and using "reset password" in the boot menu.

 

Google has no conscience - type in "nt offline registry editor". Granted you'll need an external CD or floppy. Unless the all knowing Google can find a site to make a boot USB with that tool.
