Graphic card slowing burn?

After installing an MSI Graphic Speed Graphic Card and a 5oo Watt power supply (with help from the forum), all was working perfectly, until I made a copy of my movie, Water for Elephants, took forever, 1 1/2 hours on Img alone for the burn. Coincidental?

 

I dont believe in coincidence but unless you are rendering anything as part of the burn I wouldnt expect those components to effect burn speed. More likely is a dodgey DVD. Has it happened with multiple burns or just the one?

 

Go to the graphic card chip mfr's website (ati.com or NVIDIA.com) and check to be sure you have the latest version of the drivers installed. The install CD that comes with a new card is often outdated and Windows Update doesn't always catch the latest versions.

Are you seeing any other "coincidences", such as choppy audio/video playback and/or the graphics driver crashing? If so, there is a possibility that either the graphics drivers and/or video card itself are causing deeper issues due to compatibility issues or a corrupted driver install.

If the card is an ATI chip running on an Intel-based board, I've seen several cases where the only failsafe way of eliminating the problem is to pull the ATI card and replace it with an NVIDIA one. If this is the case and you're still within the store's return policy, this route is likely the easiest way of solving the issue.
