graphic problem

hello, can you help?
the font on my computer is the same i think but suddenly the letters have become all thick and clumsy looking, it looks like the type face of a clunky old computer. also, on the toolbar area, where there are usually arrows for the spellcheck or so these have been replaced by the number "6"...does anybody know what is happening to my computer?

ps. even on the select an icon for this post there isnt the usual hole to click on...just a grey scratchy blur.

 

It sounds like one of your fonts has become corrupted. Try re-installing the Martlett font as this is the standard Windows font.

 

thankyou. i know little about computers. where or how do i reinstall that font? is font frenzy ( a fee download here) any good?
some of the sentences on screen are becoming illegible and things that were previously arrows or crosses are now vague squigles or numbers.

 

To install a font:

Control Panel>Fonts>File>install a new font>C:\windows\fonts
Select Martlett>OK
