graphic problems !!

ok im at lost here i need some help . i have a gforce fx5500 vid card .. what happen was i got a new computer and it needed a vid card and sound .. so i stuck in my gforce and sound blaster cards .. everything runs well till u log in on line game the screen looks normal then blinks to red screen then back to normal .. I installed new drivers and even install the Apg chip set drivers and still same problem so i went and reinstalled the game i play =( still same problem kinda weird my internet is fine and i can surf and listen to music but when i log into my game its does that flashing thing i dont know what else to try

..... PLZ help

 

Does it happen when you play other games? It could be overheating.

 

Well, the description of the problem is rather vague. Just to clarify, you bought a new computer, installed your game, it gave you the usual error that you need a GPU unit to play, you installed your FX5500 AGP you get a blinking red screen try to play this game but not while doing other tasks. One thing you failed to mention is the Sound Card you put in.

If you could list the Sound Card you installed it would help, anyway, minus the sound card you should try basic GPU troubleshooting. Uninstall the Video Drivers completely and completely reseat the video card and make sure you seat it firmly, reboot and install the lastest drivers from NVIDIA then reboot.

If it still does this, it might be a motherboard issue or a power supply issue, a overheating issue depends on how long are you are on the game before you get the blinking and if I may ask what game is it?
