This randomly happens, on desktop and ingames. Anyone have any ideas? ANYTHING that can cause this? Ever seen this before? I know I have'nt

    AMD 64 3200
    1 gig corsair memory
    Radeon 9800
    Asus motherboard

Thats all you should need to know about my specs. Also, the drivers are all up to date, and the VGA cooler does NOT feel hot to the touch. Please help!

Ram or Video? That is my guess. Do you have 2x512 in there or just a 1g? If you have 2, pull one out and run it.. if it happens.. switch it's location.. until you have tried all your slots and if it still happens, then switch chips and repeat. If still no luck, then try to nab someones video card for a few mins and try a quick swap. That's all I can think of for similar issues I have had in the past. Hope this helps?

Sounds stupid, but unplug replug your monitor in, and verify a tight connection with the monitor.

It looks like a few cards I have pushed too far,one clue to whether its hardware or software is the amount of time and how often the corruption has occurred,if the prob has gradually become worse and more regular I would be pretty sure the card is overheating,if the prob has suddenly occurred and is of the same intensity every time it could point to a corrupt driver, first eliminate the driver by using this prog

follow the instructions in the readme to the letter then install the latest driver from ATI,also check your frequency settings in display properties to make sure your cards clocks are set to factory-has this card been overclocked?, it looks very much like a card thats clocks have been pushed way beyond stock settings ,it would also explain why you have corruption on the desktop
