I bought a DVI to HDMI cable so I could run dual monitors one being my standard vga to vga Phillips monitor the other being a Sharp 32" LC32GD8E Aquos connected with the hdmi to dvi cable from a ATI X800GT all-in-wonder. I have set it up to work to an extent but the colour is far to dark and has a sort of orange tint to it. I attempted to alter this by altering the colour but it makes no difference and trying to watch videos at the moment is pointless as the quality is not good enough. I have the resolution set at 1920x1080. My main concern is that the quality is worse with the HD wire than it is with the standard VGA at resolutions of 1024x768. Any suggestions? Thanks

Does the Sharp monitor have a VGA/D-Sub connector, also? Is so, you could try a DVI-to-VGA adapter to connect it to the DVI port on your computer.

I had been using a VGA to VGA, but got tired of removing it out of the back of the monitor and putting it in the tv (sharp) so I thought Id go for a HD cable as I thought it would improve the quality, I was wrong. Cost me £12 as well hopefully I can get a swap, but that was kinda my question, cant really understand why the quality is worse, than the VGA to VGA
