graphics card help

Hi. Sorry I posted this in the wrong place.
I am new and just did all your spyware removal stuff. Seems to have worked THanks!!
Now our problem is games my sisters got for Christmas. One is Barnyard and one is Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Neither of these will work. First they kept saying must install Direct X. We did and it still says it. Barnyard worked, but everyone was flying lol there were only half graphics.
We were told by Dell people that we need a graphics card. They recommended 2 specific ones, and we do not know if we need those specific ones or if it matters what brand or what.
We have 1GB of ram on Windows XP.

And the specific ones they recommended are...? Also, what model of Dell is this? The more info you post, the better help you will get.

Oh sorry - they said Xtasy Radeon 9250 128MB and GeForce 3D Fuzion FX 5500 256MB - but he said we really didn't need to go that big.

We have a dell E310 desktop

Also wanted to ask - on the Radeon - I saw one at Office Depot but it said Stealth Radeon 9250 etc. No xtasy on it. Is this the same??

 

Personally, I would go with whatever Dell recommends - that way, you can scream at them if it doesn't work, and as an additional bonus, if they recommended it it probably won't void your warranty.

That's me and my way of thinking anyway.
