So my old 570 "broke". One day it froze and kept saying error 42, with a low resolution. I tried everything reinstalling drivers , with no success so i sent it back and they send me a 670 back (which isnt new it looks refurbished). The problem is it does the same when i plug this into my motherboard, but its alittle different.

When i plug it in and boot my computer, it displays but has a black border around the actual display even in 1920-1080. When i install the drivers (website and the disc), and reboot the pc, it gets to starting windows and just restarts and keeps doing that, although i can boot into safe mode but still has the border around the display.

Ive just reinstalled windows formatting my hdd with no luck.. so is it my motherboard? or what can i do? I have tried all of the pcie slots on my motherboard. Ive also updated my bios.

    Thanks

It would help the experts if you ran Belarc Advisor and posted the report in .zip format as an attachment. Be careful not to reveal your product keys.

Ok ive ran it, how do i edit out my product keys? And should i plug the gpu in to do this test? (currently running on onboard)

Yes plug the graphics card back in. Belarc publishes the product keys near the end of the report. So, make sure you delete them to prevent an unscrupulous person from using them.

Copy the report into Notepad, scroll down and delete the product key lines. Then .zip the Notepad file and attach it.

Ok i attached it, its quite hard to read from notepad though (probably just me), but i can print screen it if you wish. Its werid it says display is coming from Standard VGA Graphics Adapter [Display adapter] but im using DVI out the card. Its just not recognising it at all. And this is in all the pcie slots on my mobo.

    Thanks

This is without the drivers installed btw, when i install them i cant get onto my PC, it just restarts after the "starting windows" screen continually.

It dont matter now, i contacted them and im now sending it back for RMA. Lets just hope it is the card and not my motherboard.
