sorry... I didn't much help in the search. ok I'm running on windows xp 3.0 dual processor, 1 gig of memory, nvidia geforce 6600 pci express. Now when I dont have the graphics card in the computer runs fvery smoothly (not with highend games) with the card the actual computer performance slows down when I right click the desktop it takes about 2 seconds more, HL2 skips and stutters once and a while just overall it is slower, I'm not sure what the cause of this is I didn't get much out of the other posts either could anyone help?

Dual processors as in two core processors or two actual processors?

What are the processors. You said 3.0, so I assume 3 ghz.

    Also, what motherboard?

how would I do that? I don't think this could be a faulty computer it's just the graphics card, I think its getting interfered by something I'm on a sony vaio.

Direct X 9 worked just fine with HL2 on my VAIO (RX-850). HL2 uses STEAM which downloads all needed updates when you start it up.

It was a long load process even on DSL, hate to try it on Dial Up.
