    Hi,

I have been having trouble with my graphics card recently [PowerColor TurboDuo R9 280X OC 3GB GDDR5].

I have had the same setup for about 3 years, without change. I have checked the BIOS temperature settings and my case is around 37°C on average, maybe 42°C on full load. So I think the case cooling is fine.

When I play a game for maybe 1 minute or less, the graphic temperature shoots up to over 93°C. (Normally under full load it would peak to about 75°C).

When I close the game it will drop back down in seconds to around 42°C.

Even when the graphic card is at 93°C the graphic cards fans will only be at about 60% speed.

Could it be that the graphic card fans are not doing their job anymore?

Or could it be the thermal paste needs replacing?

I'm really worried that it will cook, or cause damage to the card. I have inspected the card, it is near mint condition and dust free. - p.s - It is not overclocked.

Any help, advice will be great, many thanks in advice!

    Chris.
