My son's pc is a E machine 2.8 cpu Intell Cel. Win.xp 512 mb ram. 80g HD. He is useing on board graphics. He plays War Craft, Age of the Empires, and other RPG's games. I have a Mad dog Prowler MX440-SE GeForce4, That I'm thinking about putting it in his PC. Is this card ok for this? Is it worth installing it or should I get a better one.(He's a good Kid, and good grades and loves his PC, and does't ask for much so . . .) I'm not looking to spend alot but I'd like something better then what he using now. Would really like to hear what you all think of the Mad Dog card or any other suggestions about any other cards around$100.00. He's having troubles with it freezing and error messages say it's related to graphics card. THANKS IN ADVANCE Chuck

for an e-machines i'm sure anything would be an improvement to what is integreated on it. if it has an apg slot then an upgrade should provide a significant improvement to whatever he's playing. if its a PCI card, you'll be a little more hard pressed, but you'll want to pick up something anyways cause it *should* still be better than the integrated. out of curiosity tho', what sort of integrated is it and how much ram is on it (and is it dedicated or shared ram for it). hope this helps and if you give a *little* more information someone here can give you a better answer than this i'm sure :)

ssjchris_29, I have a very similar puter to yours same processor same ram size and type the major difference is our MB. I went with EPOX the 8KHA+ anyway I’d like youre opinion on a good video card AGP 256mb not more than $160.
    Thanks Teeke

in all honesty 256Mb on an AGP card isn't all that important, its more that its fast RAM. to stay under 160 i'd say goto newegg and if nothing else i've heard the ATI 9600XT is under that budget, and if you wanted to try your luck, find a 256-bit memory 9800SE card and you can mod it to use the other 4 disabled pipelines to essentially get a 256 bit 9800 card and itd be fast as heck. that's risky tho', the chances of getting a good card like that are only 1:2 or 1:3. otherwise if nothing else see if you cant find a nice nvidia 5900 or something on sale somewhere, those are nice cards as well :) best of luck to you :)
