I play one game online and it keeps telling my that my graphics card driver is at least 6 months out of date and to download a new driver. The game is played at the lowest graphic settings and can still run a little slow.

my laptop is a few years old, but not ready to spend $1,000-$1,500 on a new one right now.

I go to the intel website to install the graphics Drive and support assistant, but when I click on it, instead of installing a new driver, it uninstalls, and I have done this at least 10 times and everytime it does uninstall and never downloads a new driver. I have a windows 10 PC, Intel i5 1.8GHz with 8RAM.

I had a similar issue with a different laptop

However i wasn't playing a game on mine instead i was using cura for 3d printing

The way i solved mine was going to device manager> then selecting display adapters> right click on your display adapter ( i think you may have intel hd 5500 or some intel HD) > press uninstall>
then i restarted my laptop , the system manually reinstalled the driver and then i was able to update manually fine

May or may not work for you

Try using DDU to cleanly remove the graphics driver then install fresh.

Check too for both Intel & nVidia graphics driver updates. The message isn’t specific so you should check both if you haven’t.

The Intel will uninstall the original driver first but there should be a ‘Next’ button to click to continue. Also check that it isn’t asking you to restart the PC before install continues. It shouldn’t but depending on the age of the original/old driver it may.
