Graphics card?

    My computer turns on ( I hope ) but I got no screen. Just a black hole, Anyone think it is something different?

    A monitor works......so it isn't the motherboard. So we replaced the screen and it works. Only problem is when we put the cover back on, it doesn't. Sigh.

    Maybe the cover is opening poor solder connections?

    Or bumping the inverter, which is the actual broken part?

    We also replaced the inverter, still works until the cover is put on. :(

    Is it shorting out on something? Is the cover plastic or metal?

    Cover is plastic. Pinching something? Just don't know. May try just leaving the screen on and then start putting the cover on and see what screw shuts it off

    It could be the flex cable where it connects to the back of the display. Does the backlight come on?

    Nothing happens when the cover is put on. Without the cover, it displays normally. SIgh

    Post some pictures of what the cover is covering and the inside of the cover itself.

    Check/change cables
    check/change video card, try onboard video if available.
