    Hello,
There is something i would like to ask and that i cannot find a solution on the internet. Recently i've bought a geforce 9600m gt for my notebook and everything works great mainly in games with more than 200 frames per second in a game. Although, after some windows vista updates, the performance went really down, going to 20 frames per second making it unplayable. I've tried to change the graphics driver and it didn't work. I've reisntalled the windows and didn't turn on the updates and so far everything is working great although i think that i should make some updates, mainly the ones that increase the security, but i'm not sure which one will mess up the graphics so i was wondering if any of you know what should i do.

ps: recover the pc didn't fix the problem at that time.

This could have been a malware issue but the reinstall probably wiped it out. I think it would be fine to update.

Yes, however ... install the updates, but install every one of them EXCEPT the updated graphics drivers ... once you've installed all of them except that one, check your framerate, if its ok install the updated drivers, I think you'll find its the updated drivers that are the issue, for some reason, with some cards the updated drivers actually make them perform worse ... and I think the 9600 is one of them.
